
The Hadia weekend event kicks off with a * benefit show on Friday night, June 13th, 2008. Doors open to the public at 7:00, show starts at 7:30. Show and workshop location: Euphoria Studios, 1235 SE Division St # 106, Portland, OR 97202. Ticket prices for the show are as follows: $18 at the door, $14 if purchased before June 3rd or $10 if you register for both workshops.
The line up! Hadia, Janikea, Salome, Kendra, Claudia, Luminessa and *SEED dancers. Professional performance of Egyptian raqs sharqi, American Oriental, Tribal style and more. Spinning by the smokin' hot DJ Leyla! Beer, wine, soda and water will be available as will an open floor (time permitting) at shows end.

Sunday the 15th, from 11 to 4pm, Hadia will teach a workshop on Arabic Musicality: a study of three classic, orchestrated compositions. The content will consist of phrasing, maqams, rhythm's, instrument identification and movements from Hadia's vast repertoire.

Hadia, at a glance
With a professional dance career spanning three decades, Hadia is considered to truly be a master performer and teacher. As testament to the massive touring she has done in the America's, Europe, Middle and Far East that continues today.Hadia was the recipient of the global Woman of Vision - Arts, Entertainment and Culture award, and the winner of the IAMED Best Choreographer Award and Best Modern Egyptian Dancer. She also received the Middle Eastern Dance Lifetime Achievement Award, as well as the Giza Academy Award for Best Instructional Videos.
Based out of Montreal, Canada, Hadia conducts annual tours to the Middle East and Turkey, she administers teacher trainings, intensives, and has 13 Oriental dance DVD's on the market! To read her full biography, visit her website.
